Rationale: These webinars are the first two of seven roundtables organized around the theme, Postcolonial Christianities in the Philippines: 500 Years and Beyond. Conversations examine the colonial/neo-colonial/ dominant/metropolitan interests that endure in cultural texts/artifacts/practices of Filipino Christianity. The thrust of these roundtables is deconstructive, welcoming decolonizing theologies and indigenization strategies that regard culture as dynamic, heterogeneous, and subject to contestations of power.

International Conference on Catechesis and Religious Education
Theme: 500 Years of Christianity: Revisiting the Faith to Move Forward
June 25-26, 2021
Register here: https://bit.ly/376taHn
In 2021, the Philippines will celebrate its 500 years of Christianity in the archipelago. The Philippine Church marks this as a celebration of faith and thanksgiving. This is a year to revisit the working of the Holy Spirit in the propagation of the faith in the Philippines as well as in the Pan-Asia and other international regions. Theologians, missiologists, catechists and academicians are invited to reflect and revisit the past to articulate the gift of faith in the region. Hence, the Theology and Religious Education Department of De La Salle University in partnership with the International Association for Mission Studies organized the International Conference on Catechesis and Religious Education in celebration of the quincentenary of Christianity in the Philippines.
